VOLUNTEERING

Our fastball club is a non-profit, registered society managed solely by a team of volunteers from our community.  We would not survive without the many volunteer hours parents put in on executive, coaching, score keeping, field prep etc. Our continued success relies on you.  Our club policy requires every family to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per child of volunteer time during the season: five hours of club duties and five hours of team duties. 

Club Duties

Club duties support the operation of the club as a whole and are covered either through a volunteer position or volunteer shifts to be completed by the family/guardians of each registered player.

Club duties include:

• Member of our Executive Team
  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Registrar
  • LTP Coordinator
  • Equipment Manager
  • Concession Manager
  • Umpire Scheduler
  • Field Scheduler
  • Media Manager (Social Media and Website)
  • Member at Large
• Concession shifts during game times
• Park clean-up on Sunday, March 10, 2024
• Field maintenance/work crew
• Assisting at a tournament hosted by the club. For example, a Learn to Play parent could assist at a U15 tournament. 
• Other roles that may come available during the season such as helping with Opening or Closing Ceremonies. 

Team Duties

Team duties support your child's specific team and do not count towards the club volunteer requirement as part of registration. However, supporting the team is crucial to a fun and successful season for players and families.  This support is very appreciated by the coaches too. Team duties include such things as:

• Team Coach or Assistant Coach
• Team Manager
• Scorekeeping
• Field Set Up
• Field Clean Up/Tear Down
• Team tournament duties
• Other duties that could be required for safety protocols

Team Duties will be organized through respective Team Coaches and/or Managers.

It is important that everyone understand the volunteer commitment.  In the event that the required volunteer hours are not completed as scheduled, your volunteer deposit of $200 will be cashed.  Thank you in advance for your help.
