Greetings and Welcome to Cordova Bay Fastball

Another Season is upon us and we are gearing up for some thrilling fastball at Lochside Park. It's great to have a Mite team back in the park. As Coach Hayes and I took the pickaxe and shovels to field 2 to find the 45' drops we were reminded of how long it has been since we have had a team at this level and what a great job our Learn-to-Play program is doing creating the next generation of teams at Cordova Bay. If you haven't seen Learn-to-Play before, I strongly recommend at trip to the park on a Wednesday evening or Saturday morning to enjoy a game and a burger or egger. Be sure to get one of these future greats to sign their rookie card for you. It will be priceless.

Once again this season, Cordova Bay Fastball will be hosting 3 tournaments. The Bantam 'B' Cyclones & Bantam 'C's go at it in our 2nd Annual Bantam Icebreaker April 23-25. The 32nd Annual Steve Quan Memorial Mite Tournament will feature the Cordova Bay Mariners May 7-9. Finally, The Gladys Cunningham Tournament will feature our 2 PeeWee 'C' Teams, The !mpact and The Panthers, June 4-6.

I am ever thankful for the countless hours that our executive, our coaches and our volunteers of all ages give to make Cordova Bay a great place to play. To be able to work with such dedicated, creative and friendly people is an honour and a pleasure. It has made my time as president a pleasure and it always has me looking forward to Spring, the crack of the bat, onions on the Barbecue and another season at Lochside.

See you at the park,
Derek Brooker, President

Rain-Shortened Gladys Goes to View Royal

Saturday was sunny but Sunday... not so much. Rainy weather cancelled the medal round of this year's Gladys Cunningham Tourney so by virtue of their round robin finishes the View Royal Stingers took gold, Lake Hill took silver and our own Panthers brought home the bronze.

13 Bronze Medals, 3 Hospital Bracelets, 2 Broken Bats!

The Bantam 'B' Cyclones took one trip to Richmond, three trips to the hospital and one more to the podium as they took home a bronze medal. All the girls will be fine but two bats were not so lucky as they gave their all for the girls and did not make the trip home.
